Bubblegum Moons
In my mind there is nothing that can stop me from growing. But growing is painful for someone like me. Psychologically speaking I have what you may call the Peter Pan complex. And still, I feel the weight of the years I don't have pulling me down.
Chapter 1
The Departed
It's Monday morning and it's quiet outside, it's too soon for someone to be on the street. Only I am awake, staring at the two moons that are passing through each other on a cloudless sky. They are so beautiful at this hour, with their bubblegum orange colors glowing like ghost of the stories we are forbidden to read.
“My name is Alana and this is the 200th year of the second Era of our world.
Earth is long gone in the darkness of another galaxy, frozen to dead by the hunger of generations of mindless humans. They never saw their home as a living thing, for it never complained. They never nurtured the womb that gave them live for it never cried. But as a woman in love grows tired of being despised so the earth turned against us. First came the sea swelling our land and pushing us further in. By that time almost all land was dry and malnourished and our food was engineered in spite of growing freely to the sun. The wind turn on us next. It invited us out like the maid that sweeps the unwelcoming ants from the house.
There were warnings. Signs and alarms were everywhere even in themselves. Floods were getting worse and suddenly started occurring in the most unusual places. Storms where escalating in severity has the planet started getting hotter degree by degree. And still they kept using aerosols and eating their precious burgers – it is better to smell like grass and look like a cow than having them running free in the meadow. They were starving but never able to satisfy the hunger for the void was in the soul. They consumed all things and people around them looking for a purpose that got lost when the first engine was built. From that point to the eminent destruction was just a glimpse. Faith was the luxury of few, and magic was just out of fashion. The skies were gray. The clothes were gray. The cars were gray. The eyes were gray. And again, the greens tried to warn the rest of the hole they were jumping to. “One day even the bees will leave us.” - the greens said. “So what? Let them!” - said the grays. Einstein, one of the 'Sirens', once said humans will fall right after the bees. And they begone after the biggest volcano on earth erupted. Yellowstone was awake and put the sun to sleep. And then the cold came. A winter that never ended...
Humanity stood together for the first time. As the earth turned on them they turned to each other. All Gods had left. Religion was no longer an issue, for in the end, only science stood to save mankind.
Finally Earth was left alone. Nations united and created a fleet of spaceships that ultimately brought them here, to Gardenya. The paradise the earthlings prayed for. Even though our own species of plants prospered, the planet was already a garden when they arrived. When the colonist first saw this perfect ecosystem they made a vow: not to kill another planet. The planet is a garden itself and we have become it's gardeners. Rules were made to prevent us from craving more than we needed. As years went by the laws were made stronger and ruthless so no inhabitant dare even to sneeze to close the ground. We could obtain all the energy from the sun and the organic mater. Paper and plastic were abolished and incinerated in outer space. Some plants provided us with similar materials that we use in computers. All books saved are stored in major servers and can be read in our tablet accessing the library domain, there are some however that are forbidden, and we shouldn't try to hack them. So says the law. Thanks.” After ending the essay about the departure of Earth, Alana glanced at the teacher waiting for permission to sit. “That was a little harsh don't you thing? You may sit now.” said Miss Aurora looking at her with the same vague and scarily peaceful look she always has. ”We mustn't old bad feelings in our heart. Let us meditate to clean the aura of the classroom green ones.”
As she closes her eyes something beat wildly in her chest and she closed her fists so strongly that her nails made her hands bleed and she felt the urge to cry. These rituals they were obliged to make made her sick every time. Her mother once told her she felt the same way at her age, that a part of her was not tamed. “You have to bottle up that anger.” she told her.

Vemos poetas contidos, literatos contidos e rock&roll contido. Contentamos-nos com a pasmaceira. E queremos voltar a ser grandes.

It's Better With Windows?
vigmeister writes
"From Techgeist, 'Linux just got a major slap in the face today from Asus. One of the highlights of Linux going mainstream was the wildly popular Asus Eee PC preinstalled with a customized Linux distro geared towards web applications. While I personally never got what the big deal was, I was still happy for all the Linux people out there waiting for this day, but it looks like the cause for celebration won't be lasting much longer. Asus and Microsoft have teamed up and have made a site called 'It's Better With Windows.' The page touts how easy it is to get up and ready with Windows on an Asus Eee PC, while slyly stating that you won't have to deal with an 'unfamiliar environment' and 'major compatibility issues.' While it is silly to state such a thing since Asus built the Linux distribution specifically for the Eee PC, I give Microsoft two points for snarky comments.'"
